Deep breath in -- and exhale ....

I did it this week. I hit the period when you question what you are doing and if you have started something you can finish.  The excitement I had the other week about starting this at home business waned for a few days as self-doubt, self-criticism and frustration hit.  Then I remembered two key things.  Breathe in and exhale.  Simple instructions when you think of it, but when it comes time to do it at a critical moment why does it then seem to be so difficult to complete?

I listened to a cd today (ok it was my husbands and I accidently took it on my way to work) but it made perfect sense and tied in to my Team Monster Meeting from last night when it said "the definition of insanity is repeating the same thing over and over but expecting different results".  It also said that in order to succeed and truly make it on your own you need to pull away from the other 97% and be unique.  Internet CEO moms tells us to "be real" and it rings truer and truer everyday.  I am not happy going to the same job, by the same route, and repeating the same tasks everyday.  I need to grow, I need to evolve and I need to stop living vicariously through others expectations.

I did my first presentation today on my own (moving sort of in my own direction) and I must say it was quite successful.  I will do my 48 hour follow-up and I am pretty sure I will have my first enrollment.  How exciting is this??!!  VERY!!  I am thinking that moving in a different direction, having faith in knowing I can be what I want to be in life and honestly admitting I am scared of changing the way things are because I LOVE structure will allow me to be very successful in this new business.

So here is a toast (theoretically) to breaking the definition of insanity and growing with my wonderful team members!

Deep breath in -- and exhale everyone!

Working from home - it's more difficult than you may think!

I started working from home part-time a week ago.  I am working with an amazing company called Internet CEO moms and we work with another company called Melaleuca.  It has amazing products (check out the link www.melaleuca.com) and I have turned into a devoted user of them.  I thought with my husband working such long hours I would have plenty of time to fill and would gets miles and miles of pathway cleared to get this business going.

WRONG!

As I sat down to read my membership kit I noticed my paper was sticking to the coffee table a little.  Of course I have to clean it and spill my coffee in the meantime.  Perfect!  Now I had the chance to use the stain remover I had received from my value pack, and let me just say this ~ stain??? what stain?!?!  This then meant I had to vacuum the carpet and by the time I was done an hour had passed and I still had reading to do.  But I was able to use products and find out that - yes - they are AMAZING!

The following night I made a dozen phone calls.  Followed by a dozen "let me get back to you".  I made myself feel better by doing laundry; MelaBrite and  MelaPower are awesome by the way!

I finally got down to reading an article in my Leadership magazine and there was an article about this lady who felt like giving up after her first week and her daughter told her to keep at it.  Her second week things started moving and now she is super successful.  It made me think, and then smile and then get my optimism back (I also had a nice chat with my enroller).
Week two ~ here I come!
